Health & Safety in Fabrication
We work hard to ensure the ongoing safety of our students and staff when working in Fabrication, following the regulations specified in the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and our internal UWE health & safety policies.
This includes risk assessments of our equipment and activities, regular workplace inspections, and equipment maintenance and servicing schedules. Some of our areas and processes are higher risk than others, but we will always cover any relevant guidance, safe working practices and personal protective equipment required within our area and equipment inductions.
We all share the responsibility of maintaining a safe workplace, including you as students
When working in Fabrication, we expect you to behave in a safe and professional manner, to follow any guidance, instructions and training you receive from technical staff, and to comply with any health & safety signage visible in the space. Please also be aware and respectful of other students and staff working in the same space, and ask if you have any questions.
