HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY
An important consideration for us is the provision of a safe working environment for you during your study at the School of Creative Arts. We operate a careful and stringent safety management in our technical resources. Access and procedures vary between technical areas and we are therefore informed by the work hazards associated with each. We continue to work towards the best balance of safety management, practicality and student needs.
LEGISLATION
All activities carried out by staff and students in the technical Resources area are under the auspices of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and its many associated regulations since then. The overall safety management is also informed by the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 and all the relevant EU Directives.
To provide a consistently safe working environment for you in the School’s technical areas. This includes risk assessment and maintenance schedules as part of an effective safety management. We continue to emphasise the importance of amalgamating Health and Safety awareness with the educative processes. Where appropriate, workshops and workshop support materials will carry all the relevant health and safety information necessary.
